    Malassezia is a type of fungi that lives on a dog’s skin. This yeast is normally found on the skin, but its abnormal overgrowth can cause dermatitis, or inflammation of the skin.  It is recognizable by a musty odour and reddish stains on skin particularly on paws, underbelly and tear stains.

    The condition usually requires long-term treatment and the the majority of cases respond favorably and the itching is reduced within a few days of using this pack combination topically.

    The common cause of a yeast skin infection is poor health and mostly attributed to poor diet and microbiome imbalance. Dry food contains carbohydrates and sugars that feed the yeast fungus.  Another cause is an increase in the amount of oils produced on the skin, this is most commonly associated with allergy based skin disease.

    Some dogs have a poor genetics or an immune deficiency that is ineffective at fighting yeast infections resulting in chronic infection. Dogs that receive immunosuppressive medications such as steroids may be unable to effectively prevent yeast , so may develop a chronic yeast infection
